They could be sent to a juvie (juvenile) center.
If the hacker is a teen, he/she could be tried as an adult and be sent to jail instead of to the place for juvie delinquents.
They could lose their computer priviliges at school, at home, at the library, and elsewhere.
If it's something really serious, they could get the death penalty.
Who would want all these consequences?
Hacking is not worth it.
